There's nothing like homemade pizza. This recipe uses a bread machine to make the dough. The toppings are our current favourites. These instructions are for a bread machine used in Vancouver, Canada... according to the instructions that came with the machine geographical location makes a big difference in how bread turns out. Consult the instructions on your own bread machine for more advice.
Ingredients (makes 1 large pizza)
- 1 cup water
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons (or 1 package) yeast
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- olive oil to rub on pizza pan
- tomato sauce
- fresh basil leaves
- dried tomatos
- roasted garlic
- chopped onions
- sliced mushrooms
- 2 sliced boconchini balls
Instructions for Bread Machine Pizza
In this order: Add water, olive oil, sugar, salt, flour, and yeast to the baking pan of your bread machine.
Run the dough setting.
Soak the dried tomato pieces in a small amount of water for about 10 minutes. Discard water.
When the add ingredients beep sounds for the bread machine add the dried oregano. Let machine run until it stops and remove dough.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Roll out dough on flour covered surface to a size that will fit the pizza pan.
Rub olive oil on pizza pan. Put dough on pan.
In this order put all of the toppings on the pizza: tomato sauce, fresh basil leaves, dried tomatos, roasted garlic, chopped onions, sliced mushrooms, sliced boconchini balls.
Bake at 450 degrees F for 12 to 14 minutes until cheese is bubbling and crust is golden brown.
