Effect of Light and Watering Methods on Growth of Nepthrolepis exaltata Hort. and Pteris ensiformis Burm. สมพงษ์ ธรรมถาวร และ อัจฉรา ธรรมถาวร
| The ways of fern's sporophyte cultivation always have problems on environmental factors limiting of
growth. The present study is concerned mainly with the effect of light intensity and watering methods on growth of
Nephrolepis exaltata Hort. and Pteris ensiformis
Burm. We found that high intensity of light limits growth of P. ensiformis Burm.
It cannot tolerates full sun but prefers shady situation. N. exaltata Hort. can tolerates both
sunny and shady situation but it prefers the later. The suitable methods of watering for both kinds of ferns is immersion
the growing pot in the water and water level should not over than one inch from the buttom.
