These birds are all native to Atlantic Canada. Two residents, the piping plover (found in PEI) and the Atlantic Puffin (found on Cape Breton Island) are considered to be endangered. The most commonly seen birds on Prince Edward Island are the great blue heron and the comorant. There majestic birds can be seen near any coastline. The king fisher and woodduck tend to keep a distance from people as much as possible.
