  • Baby Lemonade (Syd Barrett)

  • Right now I'm listening to someone whose life's madness was accelerated by LSD and Rock-N-Roll. A child-like man who titled his first album with PF after the commonly omitted 7th chapter of "The Wind in the Willows." Classicly handsome and unreachable, while he created music that actually gave one reason to use a word like unique, one was reached. Someone who is withdrawn and prefers the world to leave him alone. An English voice we will never hear again except in duplicate.

Tomorrow will be two weeks of not smoking. I am pleased with myself for not having cheated even once, even when immersed in familiar situations that had always called for it. According to a quit meter, I've saved $40.00 since my last cigarette.

Yesterday Amy and I went to the Half-Priced Bookstore, reading material for me, art material for her. I bought Beowulf, Canterbury Tales and Aesop's Fables. I've now read half of Beowulf and even had a dream about it last night. I actually dreamed that someone was reading it (in Old English!) aloud as the events unfolded. I think from now on I am going to sign all formal documents,
"daughter of Philip who later married no one." ;)

    AFI Score: 94/100
    Modern Library Score: 5/100
