Here is a smattering of pictures taken when Dylan, his younger brother Sol, our friend Mike, and I went to the Boundary Waters. Enjoy!
- This picture wasn't taken at the Boundary Waters. It is about a month older, and taken when he and Sol went backpacking.
- This is me, in a swamp, forced to balance on a tipped-over tree trunk to avoid stepping in mud up to my knees. We were there trying to photograph a moose.
- Resting before a portage...
- This is a tipped-over tree in a dried up lake.
- I'm afraid this picture didn't scan very well, but, as you can see, there isn't much to disturb the landscape. Some people may find it tedious and boring, but coming from the city, I LOVED the peacefulness.
- At this point, Sol and I were heading back out to civilization. We had been canoeing hard all day and were trying to cut corners. This was our "shortcut". In an attempt to go a shorter and therefor easier way, we were stuck wading and dragging the canoe through a slippery, rocky pass. Luckily, neither of us fell.
