INTRODUCTION
Owner Sylvie Wittmann, a native
Czech Jew, has been giving tours
of Jewish sites since 1986,starting
the Wittmann tours company in 1990.
Sylvie was the first ever organize
tours exclusively of the Jewish ghetto of Terezin.
In addition,she started congregation
Bejt Simcha in 1991 to servethe needs
of Prague's reemerging Jewish community,
which had nearly vanished
as a result of the Nazis and 40
years of communist rule.
Her main aspiration is to bring
Jews back to the abandoned synagogues of Bohemia.
Sylvie's guides come from a variety
of backgrounds,
each contributing a specified knowledge
to their enthusiastic work.
Regular tours are offered
from the 15th of March to the 31st of December

THE GENERAL TOUR OF PRAGUE
Tour of Prague provides an excellent
introduction to the city.
Experience all the most important
sights of Prague while learning about
the Jewish contribution to the
city. Stops include:
the Old and New Cities,
Prague Castle, the Charles Bridge and
the New Jewish Cemetery,
where personalities such as Franz Kafka are buried.

Bus tour to the 18th century fortress
town converted by the Nazis
into an infamous concentration
camp / transit ghetto.

in the full history of the event.

THE "BUBBE MEISE" TOUR
An early evening tour takes a light-hearted
look
at the Jewish sights of Prague
otside of the Jewish Quarter.
Hear the legends and fairy tales
of the Golem,
the Maharal, Yecheskel
Landau, Maria Theresa, Joseph II and others -
a bit of history, a bit of "bubbe
meises".

city of the Habsburg Dynasty, orthodox center of Hungarian
Jewry which had boasted
Rabbi Chatam Sofer as one of its luminaries;
Kolin - was second only
to Prague for its importance as a Bohemian Jewish center,
known for its yeshiva,remains of
the former ghetto wall and the original houses are
still visable - visited along with
beautiful silver mining city Kutna Hora,
the minting center of the Czech
kings, only 10 minutes away from Kolin;
Mikulov- before the building
of the Brno - Vienna railway in 1848, the largest and most important
Jewish center in Moravia.
known for the Jewish role in the cultivation
of wine and the wine trade, center
of the chief rabbis of Moravia and part of Austria,
where such significant figures
as Rabbi Oppenheim and Rabbi Loew had their seats.
Highly recommended as a beautiful
stopping point on the way to Vienna.
