"It is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."12:38 a.m.: Well, I made an ass outta myself today (well, Thursday). I'm just soooo proud.By I forget who, and that's probably not exact- but it fits today
Ever do something like this? You're talking to a friend about someone, and it ain't nice talk, and then the object of your discussion shows up right behind you? I did that with Melissa once- I was going on about how she tortured her kitten, and Anna said she was right in front of me. Embarrassing. Then again, since Melissa did that kind of thing to me throughout freshman year, I figured that she could take it. =P
Did it again today, only online.
Yesterday I put up a post on the Outlet about how I thought the guy from English class was the columnist. Well, wouldn't ya know that some smartass (you know who you are- and if you're reading this- would follow the link I put up along and e-mail the guy about what I said.
For the record, no, it wasn't him. All I will say is this: If I were a person who blushes, I woulda done it. Oughta teach me to shoot my mouth off, right??? (Probably not!) Okay, it wasn't too terrible . . . he wasn't obnoxious, I managed to come up with a somewhat cogent reply. But still, I gotta watch this blabbing- especially when things are going all to hell.
I figured that The Moron would get THE LETTER today- I was a little nervous waiting for fallout- but nope, nothing happened, therefore proving that he is a jerk ass and that I was right to write it. Although I was kinda nervous that he'd call up to yell at me, and who knows what I'd say. So (immature, I know) I kept the Internet on all night (finding more pictures and backgrounds for the site), being avoidant. But no messages on the voice mail- so home free there.
Also wound up helping Lisa on her ancient history paper- it was on nudity and penises. I got a big kick outta proofreading THAT one, not to mention the dirty jokes I came up with- Lisa thinks I'm a nutcase, but then again everyone does! And I'm not even the biggest nutcase I know (although I'm probably at the bottom of the top ten- must be all the radiation from the Lab in Liverbore). I only wish I'd gotten some pics downloaded onto Geocities, I found a few that would be um, appropriate here!
And it was Elena's b-day- oops, didn't know that. I gotta go look for a present tomorrow- something involving these items, if I can get to any of the damned stores on a Friday in the rain.
And finally to finish off my Thursday (for the record, there was one good thing- aerobics class), we have:
Today's Cluster Fuck Events:
1. Phil Hartman. He will be missed.
2. I had a meeting scheduled with my advisor- no one told me that she was at a conference- gee, THANKS.
3. The weather. I was looking for an ark it was so bad today.
4:45 p.m. Update on the Moondude- he had a mild stroke, but is doing better- they're using blood thinners in lieu of surgery, and they're hoping that he'll be able to help with the final. I hope so, because I'm really worrying about the people who are in charge of the class now. While the guy today (I'll call him Scottish Guy) did use Moondude's outlines and slides like usual, he didn't know much about the subject (Saturn and rings). Shit, I knew more than he did before I even took the class! And he went off on weird tangents, and was all "Well, if this was MY class"- well, it's NOT. Good thing too.
Also went to the bookstore and Payless after classes- wound up signing up for a Clinique makeup program tomorrow (also get free stuff!) and buying a book. The book is How To Dump A Guy- appropriate, huh? Although the book says that my writing a letter is bad and I should have done it in person (yeah, like I could actually SEE him in person), it's very reminiscient of The Moron's lines of "I have no time", not calling back ... today I'm feeling glad I did the dump. I also got Elena's present- three bottles of nail polish- which I'll drop off if all the chicks get out of her room (DDD's having another formal).
As for the weather- still kinda crappy, but there's been some periods of no rain =). Let's hope it improves tomorrow.
Update, 11:23 p.m. Tonight I went to "Women Take Back The Night"- the name alone should tell you what it was- a rally and march against rape and kidnapping. It was quite awesome. Especially when huge lines of women went by the frats and the bars- it was funny how some stared and some were yelling and waving back, cars were honking . . . very cool.
I also got a phone call today on the voice mail . . . which made me very nervous for about five minutes. But no, it was just my mom . . . I called her back- apparently she doesn't want to have my aunt and uncle (Dolores and Bruce) help load stuff back home- "I don't want to hear your aunt's comments!" she griped- which means that they want to take EVERYTHING I've got up here on Friday and Sunday. Oh greeeeeat. She wants to take my crates (where I store the food) and the TV and VCR (hey, I need those!). That will not be fun. Oh well- I'm going to download some more stuff for the page now. Night, y'all.

Who else had blabbed something about a person and then got caught? I see some hands way in the back there . . . I know some of you have done it . . . come on, don't pretend now . . .
