"It was such a lovely day I thought it a pity to get up."- W. Somerset MaughamAnd that, y'all, has been the sum of my day. If not for the fact I had a midterm and stuff due, I shouldn't have.
Reason #1: The weather. WHEN WILL THE RAIN EVER END?????
Reason #2: I've been lusting after this cute guy in English class for a few days. He has a REALLY close resemblance to someone else I think is cute (but completely unattainable). Well, today I was sitting around in class alternately doing the crossword puzzle and staring at Lust Object. Well, at one point I flipped the newspaper over to look at the column printed on the other side. It's written by this guy that sometimes REALLY pisses me off with his comments. The last one he did that pissed me off said that women should never have sex until marriage, but guys can screw around all they want. He was longing for the days when scoring meant that you were a big shot, and then he'd of course dump the chick. I'm getting all mad again just thinking about it! (If you want to read more of these, check the archives at The California Aggie below, Wednesdays, the column is "Widening Gyre". Feb. and Mar. 98 are particularly offensive) Anyway, I was looking at the guy when I noticed that he had these girly wrists. Which reminded me of a column I'd read by Jerky Columnist that said he had girly wrists. I got a few snickers out of that idea- then I happened to look down at the photo of Jerky Columnist.
You guessed it. I don't know Lust Object's name or why he'd be in an English class, but he looks like the photo of Jerky Columnist, except in color.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW! I can't believe I was attracted to that jerk! Yuck! And he seemed so normal in class too! A few minutes later I caught him looking at me, but I thought, "Noooooo way."
Reason #3: We were supposed to do the English Club banned book reading today. But guess what happened . . .
Reason #4: Remember Moondude, my cool science professor? Well, he got really sick yesterday, is being operated on now- the good news is he'll recover, but the bad news is not for quite a while. So they'll be rotating in people to finish the course. I am so bummed. Not only am I worried that the new guys will make the class a whole lot harder, that guy was SO AWESOME- the best science teacher I ever had! Moondude, you will be missed. I was going to try and take Geology 1 next year because he was teaching it . . . forget that now. =(
Reason #5: I had a psych midterm today. And sadly enough, this was the HIGHLIGHT of my day.
I think I'll stay inside tonight. There must be a bad moon rising or something.
On another topic- when I got onto Open Pages, I got this invite- "of course you'll want to join" kind of thing- to join the mailing list. Which sounded interesting until the part where I'd have to download a HUGE amount of stuff from last month. Not only do I not like downloading and going through huge amounts of stuff before I even start looking at the list stuff (sloooow school modem), I've already got enough going on (with three boards, newsgroup, and my page) to worry about keeping up with. It takes me a few hours each weekday to keep up with the boards when I get home. And this is a school address- what happens when I go home, I have to let them pile up until school gets mad at me? And I know that I don't have the time to go through everyone's journals. I do a few when I've got a few spare hours that I procrastinate in instead of doing homework, but I don't keep up with any regular basis. So how could I contribute, right?
But somehow that whole thing sounds really awesome (look, I'm a native Californian- I'm required to use dumb dated phrases (like "Hey, yo, dude!" "Like" and "Cowabunga!")on a regular basis or else they take away my California Native keychain, bikini, and surfboard. Whoops, I forgot, I don't have any of those things! Musta slacked off there).
Hey, if anyone from Open Pages that's on the mailing list reads this, can you let me know if it's worth it or not? Does it take up massive amounts of time? Thanks.

Today I learned on The Tide that a "cluster fuck" is a whole load of bad/weird things happening at once. Doesn't that sound familiar? All right, who else out there has been having a "cluster fuck" kinda day? The e-mail is below.
