Some Observations

Men and women have very differing rules on facial hair. Men say women should not have it, but like it on other guys. While few women like it on guys, most agree men should stay clean-shaven, and all say no to it on themselves.

The greatest movies and stories that sell or audiences rave about are the ones where people end up happy and love wins over all. There are many basic elements to these, particularly love at first sight. Yet, when it comes to personal life, they do not believe that things will turn out for the best, that they will succeed, that love can come at first sight. What's the difference? Why not believe in storybook endings?

The word Bible backwards is elbiB.

Take pleasure in the color of a sunset, of a rose, and even a simple green tree. Some people are blind; others are colorblind. Everyday you take for granted what they would love to see just once.

When you're dating someone, "hi" always comes before "I love you." When you're married, the order changes.

People are willing to try any sort of arcane cocktail, beer or liquor, but just try to get the same person to eat a pizza with green peppers or pineapple.

People escape reality by watching cartoons, but the same cartoon can teach, make your blood boil, cry, demand justice, and pray for hope. Does this mean that in reality, we don't do any of this?

When you wake up in the morning just when there is enough light of the morning sun to see and you feel the cold morning air eating at your body but this drunk sort of heat hovers tight above your chest and you curl up tighter and fall back asleep all comfortable because the world is right and you feel nothing can harm you because of that warmth in your chest protecting you, then that's what you will feel like when you truly fall in love.

Comments:

  • It is refreshing to see another who observes things. I wish I did it as often as I used to. This message is random, I know, but I had the wish to reply anyway.

  • I like the last one. I've been there and it's true.

  • Horrah, Nick.

I hate story book endings, they pretend to give you hope but let you down because beneath all the glitz it is a work of FICTION, and fiction has no use in real life. It's depressing.

Oddly enough, I have tried pineapple and green peppers on my pizza and like them, yet I will not drink alcohol. Go figure.
