A Simple Thought

We trust friends; they betray us.
We love someone; they spite us.
We lose something; we hate it.
We shoot for the stars; the rocks hurt us when we fall.
We dream; the alarm clock wakes us.
We build; the elements crumble it.
We fail; we always try again.
We die; our memories live on.
We fall to the ground; a kind hand picks us up.
We cry; a dog's wet nose nuzzles us.
We say hi to a stranger; a friendship begins.
We suffer through the hardships; we survive.

It might not be perfect, but I wouldn't want the world any other way.
