October 14, 1998A Time not to Reflect I am going home for a few days and will not be able to send Diogenes. I invite you all to take this time to not reflect on the past two months. I ask you not to reflect for what does reflect really mean? Reflect gives the connotation of a mirror, and what does a mirror do? A mirror reverses, flips, and puts things backwards. Now, if you reflect on the past, are you then putting it in reverse, backwards? Do I just gloss over the bad times and believe they were really good? So, instead of reflecting, just think and consider. Reread a favorite story, or a mailing. Rethink a problem. Relive a memory. Resist what you hate; relish what you like. Repair what's broken. Record a dream. Remember it all. Just don't reflect. Don't reflect. I thank all of you who have joined my list. I hope you have found it enjoyable, and to all of you who comment, I bestow a special thanks. If you have the time, send to me a message in these next few days on what has been your favorite aspect of my feeble attempts at honesty. This is out of curiosity. Until Monday, With the most sincerest of sincerely's, Nick
