November 4, 1998Winter Returns It's is beginning to winter now. The days are gloomier, and even on sunny days, there is a briskness to the air. The birds are gone, save the dark crows. Showers are not refreshing, but cold dankness that permeates everything. And to everyone, the world turns depressed. What a lie. What an outrageous lie. This is one of the best times of year. People are brought together. Sure, we are all forced indoors because of the biter elements, and the closeness might only be the result of a primal need to share bodily warmth. However, look how we spend this time together. There is a whole slew of holidays packed together. These might be distractions to the outside, but they are celebrations of life through thankfulness, giving, rebirth, and love. Where is the evil and sadness and gloom in this? Winter is a time for rest and recuperation, but this is not mere hibernation. Take an active part in regaining what you lost in the past months.
