December 3, 1998A rare treat... an extra Diogenes in the day David vs. Goliath Give me something to believe in and a million people who vehemently are against it, and I'll fight them as long as they take. Give me a enormous wall made of stones 10 feet thick and put it in my path, and I'll chip it away till I make my way through. A monster with venom dripping fangs, a gorge to leap whose other side I cannot see, hordes of demons and foul spirits, I would not blink in facing them. Even if it's just one person, whose strength and presence are certain to hurt, maim, or even kill me... I will face the giant and the fate that befalls me. BUT... if that one person is no threat, will not hurt me, it's different. If I want to face them, to approach them, I cower away. They have no way of hurting me, and yet I shy away like a timid puppy from the Sunday edition of the Times. David had it easy with Goliath; I'd take his place. A giant is nothing
