Childhood Heroes

Every one of us had heroes when we were young, either some character from a book, a comic, tv show, or anywhere. Ever wonder what made you worship them so, why they changed over time, and why they don't fancy our imaginations anymore? I've just been thinking of a few that I always admired. I recall the Danger Mouse show, and though I know now that it is was purely pun-filled slapstick shenanigans, but to my six year-old self, every dire circumstance put me on the edge of the seat. Only when Danger Mouse pulled out ahead as a hero should would I calm down and I would be proud. There were other heroes, and with them come many memories. That's it for this Diogenes. No moral commentary, no divine conclusion... just me for a moment reliving a childhood past.
