Teaching

So many people I know in college will eventually become teachers at some level from elementary to college. This scares me.

Most of these are doing it out of necessity. The degrees they have passion for do not have career opportunity, so they fall back on the old fallback--I'll teach. Their only passion is in studying what they love; they hold little interest in sharing this with others.

This does not apply to all people, but how can such be good teachers? Their teachings will not hold the spark of honest interest. A student will see the boredom in the teacher's eyes and will fall into disinterest, and if this student has potential, they might give up and never realize it simply because no teacher was around to show them the beauty of the subject.

True teachers should not only love the subject they profess, but love it so fully that they want to share it with the rest of the world. Hopefully, you've had a teacher like this before.
