The Cosmic Fates

The cosmic fates are supposed to be these mystical forces caused by the twirling of the stars, the hands of the gods, elves, and whatnot all for the purpose of setting the world the way it should be. These fates are supposedly what causes bank robbers fleeing a big heist to get a flat tire outside of police headquarters or for man orphaned when young to sit next to his biological mother on an airplane. Fates also make two strangers bump into each other and fall in love. Fates are good.

I was told tonight that the cosmic fates would come into my life someday. It's amazing that other people can hold such grand optimism. Maybe that's where the cosmic fates come from. When people are not selfish and deluded into focusing only on themselves, then good things will happen simply because there is someone who wants it to happen. Cosmic fates don't exist without our hope and wishes of good will towards others.
