THEME 12. Messengers and Handmaidens

The sylphs who attend the Main Angel of the gardens are like handmaids. They often link arms in plaits as they dance around the Angel that hovers sedately in the sky. They take in flashes of light that enfold them with colours from their Queen. Such impulses show how to allot energies or perform tasks in line with growth in nature.
The usual sky sylphs range in height from 1.5 to 3 metres and have distinct faces. Racial types exist among sylphs, and these relate to the work they do in daily life. Surprised when I see them, they hover and enjoy being near people who are creative in art or science, especially those with musical talent. They attract to warmth and beauty, or popular events such as sporting fixtures or concerts. Sylphs visit and favour with blessings people who exhibit love or warmth. Such devic vessels pour their own essence into people to quicken their health and bodily activity. Most guardian Angels are sylphs who dedicate and gladly limit their existence to a divine cause great or small.
When groups of people visit the gardens to watch for devas, hundreds of sylphs flock from the skies to be with them. (ie. Whether seen or unseen!) This brings enormous non-human energy that ends in headache or burning sensations after a short time. We thus heed our earlier comment on the danger of receiving too much deva energy. It is good to have a healthy share of vital forces, but an overdose will lead to illness.
A sylph face is angular but beautiful, with great zest for life and rhythm. Air devas carry out complex plans for the greater Angels after intuitive glimpses of the goal. Deva mind is flowing, agile, and capable of effortless logic or openness of feeling. Such mental agility would be the envy of any human scientist. Angel wings are auric extensions but with a quite definite texture. The body of an Angel has a violet basis, with pastel hues that reflect from the astral into the etheric body. Conscious fugues of colour play as a language on the wings. The aura expands by an inhaling process, with energy that flies with the deva to an apt place to exhale it for the aid of other living beings.
A sylph may greet you with one flap of its wings saying unmistakably, “Hello, welcome, its wonderful to see you today.” All this in a flash! The central body of the sylph has a human face and hair that streams above it in curling strands. The body itself may also look human, but seldom has legs. It often has arms, but the lower body tapers to a tail, similar to a bird. This tail seems to fade into nothing. More advanced sylphs appear to wear a robe, or carry a sceptre if they are leader of their group.
