I'm still playing catchup, but things will be ok soon. By the way, does anyone know where I can get a laptop, cheap? |
I was woken up this morning by the sun streaming in through our third story window. I lay there and watched the sun rise over the mountains, eventually falling asleep again to the wonderful view Azura and I went on a tour of her city today. I could see the mountains rising up to the west, no matter where we were, even though we weren't in the "mountains proper." I thought a lot about how lucky I was to be here today, how much Azura means to me, and just generally enjoying life. Not that we did anything complicated. We took no pictures. We watched a lot of TV (Can you say Mars Landing?). I met her father, step-mother, and sister. We checked our email. Lots of hand-holding, kissing, snuggling, and eyegazing. You know, all the boring stuff lovers do. [not that i was bored...far from it...] Azura and I spent some time talking about what we want out of life, what we want to do. We found ourselves saying the same things over and over, and trying to explain hard, complicated things, that the other person always implicitly understood. All in all, we just fell more and more in love. It was a swelteringly hot day, too. Just the sort where you want to curl up in an air conditioned bed, and snooze. We had a bad moment where we couldn't decided if the fireworks were on or not, since the rain had finally started. We drove out to a nice vantage point for fireworks, and tuned the radio in. about 10, when the fireworks were supposed to start, the rain stopped, and we went out and sat on the hood of Azura's car. I haven't seen fireworks so neat in a really long time. I'm still puzzling over how they made the heart and star shapes. I think I can guess at the circles and ringed planets. It was interesting to see something more than big explosions and loud bangs. Plus the whole thing was set to music (and timed very well). We drove back to the hotel, and watched the latest Mars happenings, and went to bed, satisfied, and happy. | ||
