It's winter 1998 in the UK. Carl Malone, a 40 year-old UFO and
conspiracy nut may have uncovered the story of the century. Malone
was sent an unbroadcast video tape documentary about the possible
existence of a Russian amazon-like freedom fighter called Octobriana.
This modern-day Barbarella was apparently active during the 1960s,
and was initially believed to be nothing more than a fictional
comic strip character created by a bunch of Soviet youths who
were disenchanted with the system.
However, a number of documents seem to indicate that Octobriana
was a real person, and that she took on all manner of bizarre
threats -- like giant Soviet robots -- with the aim of liberating
her people from the oppressive Soviet system. Before Malone can
begin to discover the truth behind the myth, there is the small
matter of the dead body in his kitchen, and the fact that he is
being pursued by Mr Nero -- a psychotic man in black with a severe
dermatological complaint and a penchant for quoting Jack Nicholson.
