Revolution Comics

Formed: October 1995
Dissolved: May 1997

John A Short's The Legend Of Octobriana four-page comic strip was originally a proposal for the now defunct Deadline magazine, but eventually formed the basis for Revolution Comics' award-winning, critically-acclaimed Octobriana limited-series.

Short, together with Stuart Taylor, created a six-issue series that featured two different Octobriana comic strips -- one set in the 1960s and one set in the modern-day -- which was published between August 1996 and May 1997. Written with tongues firmly in cheek, Short and Taylor's rendition of Octobriana soon became a cult favourite, with the series also winning Best New British Comic at the 1997 UK National Comics Awards.

Taylor followed up the original Revolution Octobriana series with a two part limited-series, Filling In The Blanks, which took the concepts from the Revolution series to the next level. Short formed Alchemy Texts which currently publishes his Armageddon Patrol comic book.
