THE SITE.

The site is located at the northeastern tip of Georgetown. It will take up Kedah Pier, which is next to the Swetthenham Pier and a distant away from the Church Street Pier and Tun Uda Ferry Terminal.

The factor considered for the choice of its site is:

1. Former main harbour wharf for Penang.
2. Commanding view from the pier toward Seberang Perai.
3. Accessibility from Weld Quay and Light Street.
4. Important location alongside historic buildings.
5. Potential vistas radiating from the areas adjacent to the memorial circus.
6. Good visual qualities in relation to the urban fabric and water edges.
