Poem added 4/22/99. By Douglas William Mowbray:

     Elusivedation

     i.

it is darkest before this speech

as dawn recedes to a vague morpheme

                           a perfect beginning

          with the word

                                            teethdrunk

propped gander ravenous for the sound

                                                    of euphimism

     the new

                 the pressured

                                the arbitrary

                                           the excommunicative

                  wounders of the universe

                            preservers of invisible gallows

                         creaking with sinecurity syncopation

     ii.

     elegies in repose listen

                               to the pianoforte ladies

                  (wives of Morpheus)

                                      masturbate

                                        waiting for his return

                 from lobbying punishment capitols

                       overstocked in overpriced deathability

                                     and radioactive phallacy

     beckoning venial disease

                                    out of vagary.
