University of Pittsburgh chess archives. Huge, and lots of chess games and software available. Seems to be going un maintained. The chess software available here is quite old. However, the game collection is superb.

The Exeter Chess club. A huge Chess resource. Houses a Lot of chess tutorials, games, and problems. It is also possible to download it all from their ftp as a 19Mb (Duh!) file.

Lots of winboard compatible chess engines available for download here. There is detailed information about even more of them. And of course, there is a chess engine tournament always running here. If you want chess programs, this is the site to visit!
