1956- worked for Farmer's co-op, Laramie, Wyoming, after school, loading and unloading trucks.

1957-worked the summer on a sheep ranch at Belle Fourche, South Dakota .. animal husbandry..

1958-reform school farm at Worland, Wyoming, school at Colter High School, was trained as engine mechanic and rebuilder and farm mechanic, also ran the farm's D-7 caterpillar tractor and did dozer work relative to digging silage pits and other earthwork.

1959- went into the Unites States Army, November .. trained as partisan infantry, chemical warfare specialist, supply handler (warehouseman, aerial "kicker").

1960-stationed in Germany 7th Army HQ and US Medical Depot at Einsiedlerhof, near Kaiserslautern.. also worked at Eselsfurth and Mannheim. did warehouse and optical shop work..

1961-same as above, discharged in February.. worked as tire repairman in Mountain Home, Idaho temporarily later worked for Superior engine rebuilders in Los Angeles, California. Later worked for the State of Oregon highway Dept. as an engineering technician on steel bridges at John Day River, Arlington. The Dalles, and Portland.Took finmgerprint technology from IAS..

1962-same as above- also worked for Friendly Studebaker, In the Dalles as line mechanic..

1963- Tri-K dodge, the Dalles.. fired for conflict over labor dispute... worked for numerous odd jobs the rest of the year... Including blacktoppibg for Elmer's Asphalt, in Portland.

1964- Worked for Art Kunkin at the Los Angeles Free Press,on the masthead as editorial assistant until around 1970 or so..very low pay, but often very good causes-- editorial assistant and trainee.. also worked in kitchens of Troubadour and Ash Grove night clubs...worked for Timothy Leary Defense fund, did lectures on subjects of private study such as parapsychology and Taoist philosophy.. was on Melvin Belli show for Tim leary Defense. fund, and Joe Pine TV show for the Hollywood Ratpak Biker club (affiiliated with the beachcombers) began covert information collection freelancing, which has never stopped. also did MUCH acivist and counterculture print PR work

1965-As above working with the Free Press... in general doing a lot of investigative journalism.. and side work wherever I could find it.. the summers were spent in working temporary and emergency appointments with the USBPR and federal DOT as a civil engineering tech, GS-5.. Covered much social activism and other turbulence primarily for research for others.. became an information specialist.. and a moderately good news analyst and rewrite man...also worked for West Coast Detectives, Directly for Sam Comstock, the founder, in specialized security. Also worked with Chester Anderson and Claude Hayward at the San Fransisco Communication Company.

1966-same-started doing covert security work as well as uniformed for various firms

1969-Worked summer for Texas Highway dept. engineering tech at Lubbock and El Paso.. enrolled in Texas Tech, studies FORTRAN IV and COBOL.. and computer technology which was very primitive back then (ALL mainframe) ..took fencing.. did not do terribly well at any of it..

1970- Texas Tech- odd jobs, mechanic, security jobs,spent summer operating IBM type 29 keypunch, only male in office with 35 women.. just one of the girls ...

1971-Engineering tech on subdivisions around Denver for sever companies.. studied marine electronics.. moved to Long Beach Cal, worked for Wilorco Industries, prototype electronics technician for inverter power supplies scheduled to be placed in aerospace vehicles.. also did some uncertified welding, for a car dealer on trailer hitches, etc.

1972- Metallurgy lab technician for Smith Tool Company, testing for quality control of steel drilling bits for oil exploration and pack carburized exotic steel test blocks.. some electronics.did some case hardening photomicoraphy. In Denver did security systems for silent knight, a company using computerized dialers to alert Law enforcement.Installed complex alarm systems.( the very first) Also worked in Armed Private patrol work in Las Vegas, for Acme and Carex Security on labor disputes..

1973-Las Vegas-armed security and private police work

1974-same, supervisor level, controlled three cruisers and two motorcycles, secured three private walled subdivision security forces, all armed. Diploma in Marine Electronics from NRI in Washginton, DC.

1975- Captain, Carex Security, Las Vegas - directed three cruisers, two motorcycles, two hundred people and all uniformed operations, all armed, prior to the death of the owner and the transfer of the company to other owners.. political problems with licenses and other things.. Severe back injury ..

1976- Lane College, rehab program, insurance adjusting, auto body work also took political science and languages. (Three terms of accounting, one term of case law research, much other...

1977- Lane College, as above, throughout Lane College time I maintained a 4.0 GPA

1978- Lane College, Associate of General Studies Degree in Insurance, State of Oregon Adjuster's license #808.(3-7-79) continued study for AA degree..

1979- Associate of Arts degree in political Science with minors in French and Spanish. back Surgery to remove three ruptured disks and calcined disk and bone fragments, worked for Beeline delivery on Portland to Eugene daily deliveries.

1980- Organized Jim's Small Patch tractor and garden service.. did tilling and field mowing and garden and land care.. low money, very hard duty.. Had Massey-Ferguson 35 tractor, sickle-bar field mower, and commercial grade tiller as well as three gang plow.. also was a promoter of several failed entrepreneurial attempts at corporate organization, most notable: Worldwide maritime Enterprises, Inc. ... at last minute before public registration of the capital stock for sale, the backers decided not to pay the fees for the federal registration, and the enterprise could not raise capital to begin operations. All the work done on it was a total loss. End of story, end of my fascination with capitalism!

1981-same many varied and short term little bits of contract land work.. not much to report. Very low self-imageduring this time. Worked past it..

1982-same

1983-same: studied- computer desktop publishing.. prior to having a windows system. On 286 IBM XT clone . used MSDOS and specialized GUI software . Became competant as a BASIC programmer ..

1991-same, Heart attack led to the forced sale of the farm equipment.. 1992-Double Bypass, became totally disabled.. Began studying computer technology, by obtaining computers and rebuilding them and learning the software from that donated by friends. Moved up to 486 16-bit technology

1993--began managing our property by taking in renters..a computer provided by my son gave me Word and Excel, I also studied Qbasic, and computer graphics with a variety of software..became an expert at 386-486 systems..

1994-same-began study of internet and web programming thru AOL.. became somewhat expert at net communications and research and HTML programming.. maintain several web sites since this time..

1995-same-continual learning.. databases and web systems, also learning newer processors and systems..studied encryption.. and computer security and software related to same..

1996-same- maintained my left of center Embarrassed Zebra web sites, stopped print publications due to lack of revenue and interest maintained my small circle of friends and continued to study programming with HTML and Java..
1997-same-study

1998-same-study-upgrade to 233 mhz pentium 32-bit systems and studied win 95 system adiministration thru independent online study

1999-same-study-operation of own small publishing and other office chores

2000-same- certified by E-certifications.com in two areas: HTML 3 programmer, and Win 95-98 system administrator. Not a master but a journeyman, and competent to work for others in these fields.. still have much to learn. Unable to become financially able to move into later pentium 64-bit technologies. Major problem for me.. working around this. Anybody got an old pentium II or III, they aren't using? send it, send it! (Yeah, begging, ain't it a BITCH?)

2001-still disabled-still operating my Embarrassed Zebra Press as a web site and hoping to get funds to turn it back into a print publication, but mot having much luck ...

2002- Have been given a very unstable 600 mhz celeron HP machine. It is not stable enough to go online.. as it likes to reprogramitself and lose its FAT on a regular basis.. I think due to the fact that its hard drive is mounted vertically ... it is capable of doing great graphics, WHEN it is working, but reprogramming it every couple of weeks is not worth it, sometimes...
