Another View

From the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  The South Rim ranges from 6,000 to 7,500 feet above sea level.  The North Rim is about 1,000 to 1,500 feet higher.  The North Rim is very remote, and actually closes after the first snowfall, usually in October, and reopens in May.  The region receives almost 130 inches of snow during an average winter.
