Playing with the Moon (after Li Bai)

I'm the Moon.
I am big and
bright.
I sit in the big blue sky and
I look over you.
I'm the light of the sky.
I grow every night.
I go from small to big and
big to small.
I am the one who lights
the way when you walk at night.
When the sun goes up
I go down.
Then you are all by yourselves.
But then at night again
I will come up and play with you.
My shadow is the darkness of the night.
If I had no shadow it would be light as day and
if the sun had a shadow it would be
as dark as night. But
I have a shadow and the
sun does not there when
I am up it is night and
when the sun is up it is day.
