I know I've been heavy on the graphics lately. It's just that I'm feeling a litte burned out. But I'm just going to keep trucking because from the smallest acorns, the mightest of oaks can grow. A case in point: when I was in library school at McGill, my friends and I in the back row would occasionally create a four-page zine which we called "The Marginal Librarian".
 
 

We called it the "Marginal Librarian" after a particular incident. In our first week of classes at Library School, we had a set of guest speakers to talk about their real life experiences being a full-fledged librarian. One "Special Librarian" (libraries in corporations fall under the strange category of "Special Library") told us that one of the benefits of working in a private environment was that you never had to deal with "marginals". 

Our zine never survived outside of our classes but a mighty oak has sprung from the tiny acorn of our efforts. Well, sort of. One of my classmates wanted to resurrect the school paper and needed a name.

And this is why the renowned school paper of the McGill Graduate School of Library and Information Science is called The Marginal Librarian.
