I'm going on vacation soon: from the 15th to the end of the month. As you can tell from the sporatic updates and the sadly neglected maglog, perhaps I should have taken this vacation a little sooner. It's not just me though. Many webloggers have found that the summer months prove difficult for frequent web updating. And besides, even TV takes a rerun holiday in the summer and magazines come out less frequently. Why should new media be any different? Indeed, I think that if commerical and personal websites would step back from daily updates during the summer months, it would show a degree of - how could I say it - humanity? some links that may entertain : - a lovely Tom the Dancing Bug cartoon on the Matrix of Corporations - it correlates so lovely with an article in the latest Whole Earth Review - but I have no link to the article so you are just going to have to take my word for it - a smarmy (but with some truth) Slate article on how to win a MacArthur Genius Grant - considering your own weblog? You may want to read this musing on weblogs from FTrain, who is also enjoying a vacation of sorts |
