He's chasing tornados I'm just waiting calmly Chasing her... hey....
Tori Amos, Talula (Twister mix)

Before I move on to present day, I promised to account for some things in my last entry, didn't I? Well, in a nice, neat order: What more happened than me seeing Andy Richter monday, contributing to the best week in months, if not, my entire life.

A Man Called Adam (Sandler)

I saw The Wedding Singer! I saw The Wedding Singer! I saw The Wedding Singer!

I turned tuesday into an Adam Sandler fest. First of all, I didn't go to bed until 3.50 monday night...I was online for almost 4 hrs. Then I got up at 7.30, got online and stayed there for 4 more hours tuesday morning...All while listening to my three Adam Sandler cds. Talk about preparing ;)

I left after noon sometime, went to some Plaza mall, found the theater....went in...bought popcorn (they cost as much as the ticket. Heh.)It was in the middle of the day, so I took a center seat in the second front row, put a one gallon water bottle on the floor, my jacket and hat on the seat next to me, the M&M's and the popcorn on the other seat, and sprawled myself everywhere..heheheheh :)

I laughed and squeaked throughout the entire movie! GO SEE IT! It's -so- wonderful! Even if I didn't already have a huge crush on Adam, I would have after this movie...and Drew was so adorable! She must be the sweetest li'l thing alive :) This movie is so cheesy, and yet so great..and funny..and sweet. I loved the way the intergrated 80's songs into the whole movie...and Adams' continouous references to The Cure was sooo funny. Not that I'm a huge The Cure fan, but that's simply because I haven't heard much by them. Jessica's a fan though, and followed some tour with them some years ago...Robert Smith laughed at her 8)

I could just fill paragraph after paragraph with adjectives and things like that to show my intoxication with this movie...but I won't. Just know that it's really good, Adam Sandler is the cutest, sweetest, most absurdly funny person there is, Drew Barrymore is amazingly adorable, and a movie with Billy Idol playing Billy Idol in the 80's, DRESSED as Billy Idol in the 80's can't be that bad...

I even did the Adam Sandler hardcore fan test, in order to try and win one of the soundtracks...i think I did pretty well, but who knows. Besides, I never win anything 8(.

Letters from a Bunny

I come home from The Wedding Singer, check mail...nothing. Walk into my room..and find a thick envelope, and 2 postcards...all from a special..BUNNY. Let's call her, oh I dunno, JESSICA...hehehe! The postcards were sent last week from the trip she made to Colorado, and the envelope had a letter, another letter from december written by her and a Mr Ben, glittery stickers, a photo of KAFKUS looking evil, a Batman & Robin Valentines card (which scared me a bit...but they are a cute couple, and great symbols of love, aren't they?;), two hilarious collages she had made, and some other..stuff 8)

I'm STILL grinning (especialy since two more post cards arrived last night ;)

Jennie the Reverend!

I am now a certified Reverend of The Universal Life Church. hehehe, and all it took was my name and e-mail address. I wonder if this means I can wed people? I would make a wonderful..um..wedder? Minister. Something. "Do you?" "yeah" "Do you?" "SUCKERS!!!!!!". Now before you shake your heads and go "Oh my god (heh), she's gone religious on us", follow the link and all will be...if not explained, then at least clearer. Besides, I just want to be able to be called "Reverend Jennie". I want titles 8) I'm going for "President Jennie" next..has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Now, where's some banana republic in need of some top notch leadership...

Grease - the musical.

What can I say? It was a live performance of GREASE..it was amazing, even though it lacked several songs, like "Hopelessly Devoted", and "I got chiiiillls.." whatever it's called. Loved it. Love Grease. I'm a RIZZO girl though, not a sandy D, so :P

I'm gunna see a spod I've known since august 95 in 20 mins, Kelly! I knew she lived around here, but yesterday I finaly asked where she works, and it turns out my BUS goes by there twice every day!! Gunna go see her now...yeyeyeyeye :)

I love Independent Love Song by Scarlet, btw :)

Monday, February 23

JESSICA got her PHONE ACCESS BACK!! Yey! She can spod from home! yeyeye! Naked! Yey..I mean...heheh. 8) On that note; My bad news. Our computer at home (well, Jesica's puter that she lets us use :) Anyways, it's a pretty Macintosh with PC side...and now..the PC side's screwed up all of a sudden, and the Mac side has been screwy for a while..then last week, the password suddenly decided to snap on, and Jesica can't remember it, so none can use the puter. Blergh. Ah well. At least I can call Jessica and harass her for real now 8)

I went to sleep around 3 saturday morning, slept til 12.30 saturday, went back to bed at 3.50 sunday morning, woke up at 1.30 sunday afternoon, went back to bed at 2.30, woke up at 3.30, went to bed at 10.15 sunday night, went back up at 7.15, this morning.

Okay, this doesn't make any sense I guess, but what it means is - I NEED VITAMINS! I have 16 cents til wednesday, and all my food is running real low at home so..blergh 8(

I saw In & Out friday night though :) It's SUCH a chuckly movie...I mean, maybe 3 big laughs, and then a chuckle or two/minute. Amazing :) ("My husband has three testicles") Also - Joan Cusack is a GODDESS! Whatever movie she appears in, she just...lights up the screen with her presence. I think a lot of people miss out on seeing how beautiful she really is, because they just think she looks goofy. Dorks. Remember TOYS! Hehhehehe! Alsatia rocks my world...gee, what is it with me and robots anyways??

I really did step off the bus friday afternoon, and met Kelly. She's the person I've known the longest online, and we finaly got to meet. It was SOOO much fun! I finaly feel like things are starting to come together for me now...

  • I had the best week of my life last week (It even ended appropriately, with a heavy rain this morning, and it being..monday). I'm gunna put up a list just gushing over all the silly details of it that didn't make my diary later.

  • I saw Andy Richter irl. ME. Seen a tv hero in real life. Yey!

  • I'm starting to know a few people around here. (Gene, Joseph, Kelly, Jesica, Aziza. Uh, maybe not that many, but it's a start :)

  • Jessica is back online, so we can actualy call each other and such.

  • English class is finaly coming together...maybe the teacher saw this diary, and what it said about him? I dunno, it's just..getting better.

  • I know a little about how to get around now. Yey. Not a newbie anymore 8)
  • "We're gonna fight fire with marshmallows."

    Toys

Spring break is coming up, and both my roomies are going to Florida. me? I'm broke, remember? I'm gonna stay home, spod all day and night (IF the computer is back working that is 8(), eat well, run around the apartement in my undies, screaming along with Devo, and other fun stuff.

I'm also planning adventurous excursions on my own (heh...) to Raleigh, downtown Durham, and South Square (shopping mall 8). And that's about it. Hehehe. LAZY!!

    Conan O'Brien

    Conan O'Brien

I don't know what it is, but this Conan obsession of mine has taken on gargantuan proportions, and it's beginning to annoy me, aswell as my room mates... I called Jessica up around midnight, monday night, and all of a sudden I was talking about somebody completely unrelated, and managed to say "Well Conan can be kind'a...". The name just SLIPPED IN there.Perhaps because I was watching Late Night With Conan O'Brien at the time, but still.

After two hours, Jessica and I both got back online...and in the midst of a convo, SHE managed to subsitute a name with Conan...and the disease Conania was born.

I woke up this morning after a CONAN DREAM. Pathetic! The dream consisted of me walking home (although in a place I've never been), up a hill..and I stumble upon Conan. The first thing I say is "Oh MY! Your hair! It's red again! yey!". (I don't know what it is, but Conan's hair looks more brown nowadays 8() He kind'a grinned, and then invited me to his house, which wasn't a house on his own, but more a place shared with his family.

Once there he took off his shirt and put on a ripped black T-shirt, and we started to jump around, playing guitars and screaming songs until his brother yelled "SHADDUP!' from the room next door.

I think my brain has had an overload from talking to Jessica and watching Conan every night. It simply decided to merge the two, it seems. Eek.

At least I got to hear Jessica play her guitar on the phone. yey :)

Financial status stands at 16 cents until tomorrow.

    Food status consists of:

Some Ritz crackers, strawberry jelly, canned vegetables, frozen vegetables, white presliced sandwhich bread, pasta, lettuce, cucumber, onions and some dry carrots. Oh. And two dry pasta sauces from Sweden. Thank IPU me and Jesica are eating at the Hare Krishna's tonight!

I was supposed to study nicely allll of yesterday. Hmm? If I did? erm. I studied Jerry Springer, Ricki Lake, Geraldo, Montell. Sally Jessy Raphael and Oprah veeeeeery well.

There's nothing as heartbreaking as logging into your email, to find an email from your best friend saying they're coughing blood =( JESSICA. Go back to bed. REST. Hydrate. Get well. I love you. Bwah.

    Thursday, February 26

You know I wouldn't be able to refrain from this. You know I have to put up pages about every itty bitty thing I obsess about (trust me, the Adam Sandler page has been in the works for a year now, I think I just decided on what approach to take on it before I actualy put it up ;). Therefore, I'm proud to present my...:

    In The Year 2000 page.

Yeah, I know, it's not very exciting. However, I did produce the graphic and typing and all in less than 40 minutes, so Nyah Nyah. No complaints. And look. My first webring. On the other hand, it only has 3 other sites or something like that... I wanted to join the Krunk webring, but I can't seem to connect to it so..blah. One day :)

Eating with the Hare Krishna's is a good alternative when you don't feel like cooking, or to spend money. All you have to do is show up, donate a small amount (usualy a dollar), and they hand you a paper plate filled with vegan (I think..at least vegetarian :) goodies.

Yesterday consisted of rice with a fluorescent yellow curry sauce, a scoop of beans, fluorescent green herb oven cooked potatoes, a scoop of some sort of peanutflavoured...stuff, a piece of apple pie, a slice of bread, and a cup of DISGUSTING grapefruit juice. :) I still don't know why they always have food that looks fluorescent green/yellow. Maybe it's to prove their food has been blessed and is divine? Who knows. My tummy likes it :)

Oh..tomorrow is exciting. First I have to hand in a journal to my Personal and Social Development professor...We were supposed to write an entry 4 times a week. I haven't written a single entry. I simply printed this diary out, and am now in the process of shrinking, rewording etc and putting it into real paper. (The printout was 40+ pages though! Eek!)

In the evening I'm going to go to this thing Aziza and her school's arab club (NOTE; I didn't say middle eastern club. Yey! Right, Aziza?;) are arranging. They're having a gathering at a teahouse, where there'll be music and singing and poetry and..stuff. Should get interesting :)

On saturday I'm gunna go see Sphere, me thinks...The scene where Queen Latifah is surrounded by squids is making me go! I'm gunna be scared half to death, hehehehehehe 8)

Lastly, i'd like to add some info on the "Jessica is sick" subject. My last entry seemed to imply she was dying. She's not quite. She's dehydrated though, and needs tons of rest etc. Blah. Which means I can't see her much online. eek. BUT that's okay as long as my bunny gets WELL. Who ELSE can I be so dorky and sucky around, eh? Blah =(

    Conan dancing

Conan, after I say yes to his proposal ;)

Okay, so it's really an image of Conan dancing around wildly with the audience, as he always does, right before they start the show. Big deal :P

They had {Hanson} on the show last night. I hope all the teen girls' screaming didn't hurt his ears 8(. It took on ridiculous proportions. I never understood those who felt the need to go see an artist they claim to love, only to spend the entire time they're present (or mentioned), screaming. It's much like the phenomena during Tori Amos concerts. For some reason, they always seem to be overattended by teen girls who need an outlet to just scream, sing along very loudly, or cry excessively.

NO. Don't think I'm a grumpy bitch =( I can understand how emotional it can be to finaly see/hear a person/band/whatever that in some way have meant a lot to one's growth (heh. Hanson.), but outvoicing them only ruins the experience for all those that really want to *hear* the performance, not to mention it's disrespectful to the artist.

"Yey. Let me go out there and spill my gutts out while hundreds of teenagers scream at the top of their lungs at me."

    In the forest
    Is a Monster
    It has done
    Terrible things
    So in the Wood
    It's hiding
    And this is
    The song it sings:

    Who will love me now?
Who will ever love me now?
    Who will say to me
    "You are my desire
    I set you free"

< who will love me now? >

    Who will forgive
    And make me live again?
    Who will bring me back
    To the world again

< to the world again >
    In the forest
    Is a monster
    And it looks so
    Very much like me
    Will someone
    hear me singing

    Please save me
    Please rescue me

    Who will love me now?
    Who will ever love me?
    Who will say to me
    "You are my desire
    I set you free"

Written by Nick Bicat and Phillip Ridley, Vocals by PJ Harvey.

I wish I had this song on a tape or cd, but alas, no. I only have it on video, during the final credits where it's played (The movie's "The Passion of Darkly Noon". Hmm. I think I like it, but watching it always makes me devistated. It's shot in the woods of Germany though, and the colourscheme is...wonderful.) You wouldn't think it's PJ Harvey singing the song either, because she uses a very high pitched, fragile voice, and since the musical arrangement consists of a haunting rythm pattern mixed with her voice, it's truly chilling to hear. Blah. I really should try real hard to find this somewhere, if nothing else - as a bad bootleg.

Walking into my grandmother's living room is like stepping straight into a a three dimensional photo album of my childhood. There is not one single piece of furniture in that room that hasn't been there since I was a small child. I guess that is what happens to a room when it's been inhabited by the same family for over a century, things just find their place. This is the room of magic pirate ships built out of couch pillows. This is the room of breathless waiting to uncover Christmas presents. This is the room of my childhood, and I can not recall any other place where I have felt so at peace with life.

Intro paragraph for my English Essay II. First draft of Essay II can be found here. Yah. Quite sucky. I know =)

    argh fuck, lab closing!8((
