I just read my Guestbook and I must say i'm surprised to see so many Fabunan's popping out of the woodwork...especially since they're not all Filipino. NEwayz, if anyone out there cares at all, here's how the family name got started. Waayyyyyyyyy back in the day a Chinese guy named "Nan Bu Fa" i think came to the Philippines and started spreading his seed...after changing his name to "Fabunan" so he could blend in with the natives. Many many years later, in a place called Zambales, P.I., there are OODLES and OODLES of families with the last name Fabunan. Went and visited in '98 and saw my last name writted EVERYWHERE, peeps running for public office, in the newspaper, spraypainted on buildings, all kinds of stuff. In fact, the guy sitting on the bus across from us, as random as anything, turned out to be my dad's Uncle. This was weird since here in Virginia where i'm at right now, there are only two families here, one family in New York, and one family in South Carolina that I know of...but over there the name is as common as "Johnson." Anyone else interested in the name, gimme a buzz or drop a message in the bottle...

This page is still under construction. I try to do whatever to it whenever I can. Look for updates...uh...whenever I get to them. If any of the links go bad, it should get all patched up and good in a week's time, sometime...I hope.
