Jasmijn

In 1992 I heard about some people who wanted to put a siamese cat on the street. They had a old meezer that used to belong to their grandmother. As the woman was getting a baby they decided Jasmijn was dirty and had to go. I got there the same day and picked her up.

The first thing Jasmijn did when we came home was starting to growl and she did that a lot of the time she was awake. She was a very afraid meezer.

Jasmijn was a old meezer with a lot of problems. She was operated on breastcancer. And she had a lot of problems with her intestines.

Basicly she was on her own but after a few day Sam decided she was ok.

As Dotty and Kleintje were used to more cats (they were returned to the shelter 4 times) They wanted to have contact with Jasmijn. Jasmijn was not happy with it but sometimes she allowed them to get closer.
Unfortunatly Jasmijn's health was pretty bad. She got a lot of problems with her intestines. Also she stopped eating all the time. It took a lot of worries and work to make her eat. I tried everything in the book and more.
She kept going on and on with having diarrhea. I tried all medicine there were. Finally some little green pills together with prednisone did the trick.

Unfortunately Bas hated Jasmijn from the beginning. Every time they met it was hissing and sissing. When I left for my vacation in september 1993 Bas got his chance. He and Jasmijn had a big fight the first day after I left. Small Jasmijn was no match for big Bas. When my dad arrived she was in not such a good state. He instantly decided Jasmijn should live at their place. It took a lot of work from the vet to get Jasmijn ok again.

Just when all looked ok Jasmijn got very ill. I went to the vet and he told me her kidneys did not work ok. As I had a bad experience with that because of Sam I got realy worried. The vet gave Jasmijn a shot of liquids under her skin and told me the next 24 hours were crucial.
My dad made sure she got plenty of water. During the night Jasmijn got worse and because she was cold she stepped into the dog's basket and slept next to her.
During the day things went down and in the evening of friday october 29 she passed away in her sleep.
Jasmijn was a meezer who was not very lucky in her life. She was not that long with me but I hope she realised I loved her and she was welcome in my place.
