This is my little oasis in the vast desert of the Internet. It'll be continually (I hope) changing and updated, so bear with it's humble beginnings.

Well, I've humbly been reminded that it's apparently been quite a while since I've done any work on this page, so here the start (at least) of some updates.

Here's a bit about me to start off with. My name is really Howie, I picked up the nickname Howitser along the way, and it kind of stuck.  I've lived in New York all my life, most of it in the northern part of Westchester County. I was born in the Bronx, then at 3 moved to Yorktown, back then still somewhat rural, but quickly becoming part of suburbia.

I'm a 38 year old single Jewish male, I enjoy most sports (what guy doesn't?), most types of music, and almost anything to do with the outdoors, especially the beach! I love animals, but due to time and space restrictions I currently just have a couple of tanks of fish. I grew up with a dog and a cat, and would love to have one (or more) of each again! I own a townhouse, so I've even learned to hold my own in the kitchen.   If I ever get around to taking my bike out of the attic, I'll be riding on the County's Trailway they've created on the old railroad line.  I'm not into the bar scene, which living in the Northern part of Westchester County is a good thing.  The night life can be a little lacking up here at times!  If you're a single Jewish female in the NY area, feel free to drop a line!

I'm a member of a volunteer fire department and an Emergency Medical Technician - Defibrillation with a volunteer ambulance corps. It's definitely a great feeling helping someone you may not know, and seeing their face when you don't ask for or expect anything in return.  Especially with the tragic events of September 11, being a volunteer has taken on a new and renewed meaning.

After 12 years in IT/Network Administration, a rather rough 2000 put me on a road for a career change.  After quite a bit of thought, I entered school for Massage Therapy!  By the time the program finishes in May of 2002, I'll have National Certification, and after passing the state boards, licenses in 2 states, NY & CT!  After a rather extended period away from school, it's quite a change to go back to class.  It took a bit to get used to things like studying, homework, quizzes, etc.  It was even stranger to say I couldn't go out because I had studying or work to do!  If anyone's interested, just drop me a line & I'll let you know how things are going.
