You must achieve your own happiness, and it is no one else's responsibility to do the work for you.

Why 'pakpanther' for my Geocities name? The 'pak' is for Pakistan, the 'panther' is from an inside joke and my string of black cats. I value my privacy and safety, so I don't feel I can put up my full name, but my first name is Rebecca. [I know, I know, if I value privacy why do I have a Web page? Hey, no one promised that life would be logical! Lighten up!]

In no particular order, I'm interested in: historical fiction, dancing, music, Covey's book Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and his concept of synergy, Pakistan, Frank Lloyd Wright, jazz, goal setting, singing, world travel, Japanese prints, Mozart, friends, Celtic history, reading (I usually have more than one book going at any one time), self improvement, utilitarian pottery thrown on the wheel, more music, aesthetics, ancient Greece and ancient Egypt, spicy food and color (flower gardening, gemstones, keeping aquariums, pottery glazes, piece quilting, and last but definitely not least, interior design and real estate investing). Yes, eclectic is my middle name! Actually, I'm just insatiably curious about life. Most recent courses: the Greek Bronze Age and the digs of Troy, pottery, and a philosophy class on morality. If you stop learning, you're dead.

Within this site, I've put up pages on:

In the pursuit of money in order to pay for the rest of life, I am CEO of a real estate investment firm. We buy and sell houses, sometimes quickly and sometimes taking time to fix a place up first and improve the neighborhood. My favorite projects are when I get to flex my interior design muscles.

My original intent in creating this site was to display pictures to friends living in all parts of the world; so those of you that have been hounding me for pictures can all get happy!!!!!! (It's a small goal and is why the site of a Web techie is SO low tech!) When I can't resist, I'll add other info. Currently I'm working on adding a list of my library, CDs, and flower gardening. The first few pictures can be see here. I'll add more just as soon as I find the time or when enough friends pester me beyond bearing! }:)

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. You were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within you. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Nelson Mandela
