Oldest Brown I Have a Picture Of

...Not Oldest Picture, though

The oldest Brown relative I have a picture of (presently) is my Great Grandmother, who was born Margeurite Rouselle in 1874. That was in Alsace-Lorraine, although the German conquerors (Franco-Prussian War of 1871) called it "Elsass-Lothringen". The Germans were probably the reason the Rouselles emigrated to the US (why am I thinking they went to Galveston, Texas?) in the 1880's. Once here, she became Margaret Russell. She married Owen Brown circa 1894, and they begat Clinton (1895), Robert Jean (1898), and "Bessie" (1902)(yet another "Elizabeth"!).
Robert married Ann(a) Lillian Hamilton (1922), and they begat (Mary) Jean (1923), (Sarah) Nancy (1925), and Roberta Kay (1934). I don't know why Roberta was the only one to actually use the first name she was born with. (Sarah) Nancy married Robert Emmet McKenna IV, who begat me. Thanks for all that begatting, folks!

BTW: In the photo, it's (from L to R): Great Grandmother Margaret (Russell) Brown, Mom Nancy (Brown) McKenna, and Grandma Ann (Hamilton) Brown.
