MY THOUGHTS Darius Miles, legend of the playground and the highest high school player to be drafted into the NBA. The big 6'9 forward from St Louis is a versitile player who has tremendous athletic ability But my thoughts of this young man is that maybe he should have gone to collage for a few years to fine tune his skills. Im not saying that he has'nt made the wrong move by jumping straight into the NBA. Im just saying that Darius Miles is not the threat he could have been if he had played collage ball for a few years. Basketball critics allready knew Darius had the potentiol to become a superstar in the NBA.. But the queston is "Is he ready for the NBA? ", Darius is one of the choosen breed of young sportstars, he has huge talent and potentiol. But putting a high school player into the NBA is like 'picking an 8 out of a deck of cards' the chances are slim for this player to make a big impact to the game, either cause of his lack of knowledge for the game, the basic fundementals, the physicalness of the NBA and just the basic things Collage basketball (NCAA) can teach you. Darius i think needs to develop, he needs to work on his jump shot which is inconsistant (and in the NBA there is know room for incosistancy), he needs to work on his body and add bulk to his game so he can be physically tough and be able to battle for the rebounds against the much bigger forwards like Malone, Webber and others. But in the end I think Darius is the cornerstone of the of the Clippers franchise and that with the rite kind of people supporting and coaching him he will become a superstar just like others before him that have come straight out of high school e.g Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Jermaine O'neil. Well anyways best of luck for the future !!!!!!!!! |
