2001 NBA DRAFT PREVIEW |
Its almost that time of year where NBA scouters start anlayzing top collage and high school basketball players games. The 2001 draft is looking hot with alot of talent reday to be unleashed into the NBA scene. But the question is who is ready to take there game onto the next level ?. Well im gonna make my view on who will be picked in the draft and what number they will be picked out..... |

DRAFT PICKS |
1. |
EDDY CURRY - 6-11/285 (Thornwood High School) Well what else do you have to say bout this guy. Hes big, hes mean and he has the potentiol to become the next "SHAQ" of the NBA. But the problem is how long will it take Eddy to become the superstar so many expect him to be. If he is drafted as the number one pick he will also rewrite history buy becoming the first high school player to be choosen as the number one pick. |

EDDIE GRIFFIN - 6-9/205 (Seton Hall-Freshman) Eddie is the number one prospect (as an undeclassmen) who is definately going to be in the draft. Things can change though. He has a good shooting range and does what he needs to do for his size...rebound and block shots. But look for this guy to explode on the scene. |

LOREN WOODS - 7-1/225 (Arizona) The NBA loves to draft tall guys...go figure. I think he has the best skills of the two senior centers who will be lottery picks. He fininshed his collage career with an inpirational last game against Duke which boosted his rankings and thats why I have ranked him as the highest senior collage player in the draft. |

SHANE BATTIER - 6-8/215 (Duke) He is the best senior college player, but not necessarily the top prospect. Just because you are the player of the year, doesn't mean you are the number one pick. Hopefully he will not be drafted as low as this cause he is a talent and has all the basic fundementals ready for him to hit the NBA. Just finding the rite position and team maybe his only worrys. |

BRENDON HAYWOOD - 7-0/270 (UNC) You can't teach height, Haywood and Woods will switch back and forth during this draft season as the best senior center prospect...I think Woods will come out on top. Haywood will slide into most teams but it make take the big man time to become a force in the inside. The team that selects him may have to work on his physicalness inside as he will come up against more bigger and stronger players. But look for him to become a NBA star. |

YAO MING - 7-6/271 (China) At 7-6 has very good agility and athleticism. Can knock down jumpshots all the way out to NBA 3 point with consistency. Has good timing on blocking shots. Runs the floor well. Passes well. Has good motivation, and has expressed a strong interest in playing in the USA against the best in the world. The thing NBA franchises maybe affraid of in drafting Yao, is weither China will release him intime to play. |

JASON RICHARDSON - 6-6/220 (Sophmore Michigan State) Has good vision on the court , can only get better with Coach Izzo?s help. Has a tenacity for rebounding, unbelievable vertical. Has developed a nice mid-range , and is becoming very good at hitting the three pointer. A major workhorse , always critical of his game always trying to improve it. Loves to play in the transition . Very exciting to watch because when the ball is in his hands, something exciting usually happens. Really loves to play in the big games. Should be a top 10 pick in my opinion. |
