Empire Records is an awesome movie about a record store called...(you guessed it)... Empire Records. The movie starts off with Lucas (Rory Cochrane) being left to close the store. While disobeying all rules that Joe, the manager, has set for him (going through Joe's (Anthony La Paglia) stuff which includes his beer, cigars, and drumsticks), Lucas discovers that Mich (Ben Bode), the owner, is planning on selling the store into a huge chain of stores called Music Town. Lucas, in an effort to save Empire Records takes the store's money to Atlantic City, but loses it all gambling. The next day at the store also happens to be the day that Rex Manning (Maxwell Caufield), a has-been disco star, will be there promoting his new album. Corey (Liv Tyler), who has "the perfect life" and also happens to be a speed freak, has been waiting for the day she'd meet Rex Manning her enttire life because she has a huge crush on him. AJ (Johnny Whitworth), who is also a great artist and wants to go to art school, is in love with Corey and is planning to tell her that day. The other characters include Gina (Renee Zellweger), a peppy & flirty store employee who wants to sing in a band; Deborah (Robin Tunney), another store employee who is basically Gina's opposite and shaves her head in the beginning of the film; Mark (Ethan Randall/Embry), Store employee who wants to start his own band; Burko (Coyote Shivers), Deb's Kind-of boyfriend; Eddie (James "Kimo" Wills), the pizza delivery guy; Warren (Brendon Sexton III), the shoplifter who wants to work in a record store; and Jane (Debi Mazar), Rex's assistant who quits midway through the film. Through out the film these characters work together to form different plot twists and eventually regain the Empire.
