OK. Yeah, she was a nice person.
Yeah, she spent a lot of time working with charity, she worked with AIDS
patients when most people still didn't want to say that word. Yes,
she was interesting, and yes she was pretty. Great humanitarian and
all, but so was Mother Theresa, and you don't see her slathered all over
every magazine known to man. (But Mother Teresa wasn't photogenic.)
I am not disrespecting Diana, but the problem is that most everyone else is. Fox News Channel replayed the funeral several times, then showed her wedding to Prince Charles. Magazines, newspapers, TV, there's no escape from the Princess-onslaught. And once more, as I said a few months back, she would hate it all. I just turned that channel, and there she was, being used some more. It is sad that she is dead, but it is time to stop mourning, how many people who are wandering around wearing veils actually knew her? Just because you read about her in the weekly yellow press doesn't mean that you knew her.
So, let's recap, shall we? Diana: nice person,
humanitarian. In the public eye, really wanted privacy, didn't get
it. She's dead, she's getting more press now than when she was alive.
So what am I trying to say. Scroll back up to the big words, and
read them. Read them again, and memorize them. If you feel
the need to read a book about her, watch a made-for-TV movie about her,
look at photos of her garbage, or any other invasive stuff; just recite
those magical words: SHE'S STILL DEAD!!!
GET THE HELL OVER IT!!!
Thank you.
