- Hi, I'm Anne and I live in Orlando.
I have been following the BSB since 1995, and although I've met
them four times I'll tell you about the most memorable meeting.
It was July 16, 1996 when my friends and I called the BSB hotline
to find out where they were. It said they were coming back home
to Orlando tomorrow, July 17. So we called their office in Orlando
and asked for their flight info. and we actually got it! We never
thought we would! We were all ready to go when they announced
on the radio that they also had the flight info. We were really
upset because we thought that now there would be a lot of people
there, but of course we were still gonna go. The next day we
bought roses for Nick and waited for my mom to come home to drive
us to the airport.
-
- When we got there we were the only
ones there! And no one came after us either! We waited about
an hour before the plane came in and when it did we had our cameras
ready. Nick was first out and he saw us and came over. We also
got the other guys pics, but we only talked to Nick. He was really
nice even though I could tell he was tired. He posed for like,
a million pictures with us, and even showed us his gold album
from the Netherlands. We finally said good-bye because he had
to pick up his luggage. But we also had to go that way so we
got into the same tram as him and Howie. We followed them to
the baggage claim and waited for him. His mom, dad, and Aaron
were all there and they had to go, but he came over to us again
to say good-bye and take more pictures.
-
- It was really fun meeting him like
that even though I had already met him, and I will always remember
that day.

- I have 2 stories of going to their
concert and meeting them...both times!! Well, the first time
I met them was on January 27th, 1998. My mom, a friend of mine,
and myself were going to the Palace Theater in Albany to see
them. The show was at 7:30 and we got there around 6:30. We waited
a while and saw their opening acts and then they came out!! It
was the best concert!!!! I was about 14 rows away but it was
a small place so I could see really well!
-
- After the concert we got in the
car and called my friends mom on my mom's cell phone pretending
we were in the BSB's limo... well about 15 minutes later we pulled
into a service
area on the thruway and the BSB's were there!!! I met and got
autographs from Nick, AJ, Kevin, and Brian... that was the best
night of my life!!
-
- Well then on July 19, 1998 my mom,
me, my cousin, and 3 of our friends went to the Pepsi Arena to
see them. Well this time we were going backstage to hang with
the guys!!! (a friend met AJ's Mom's friend) So Denise(AJ's mom)
came out from backstage by the box office and gave us the passes
and brought us along with about 15 other people backstage. We
were in a small room and we made a line around the room... Me
and my friends were towards the end. First Kevin came in and
when he got to me I hugged him and he signed my Teen People and
a picture of him for my friend.
-
- Then came Howie... when he came
to me I hugged me and I gave him my autographs from the guys
the last time I met them and I had him sign the picture cuz he
never got out of their bus. I also had him sign my Teen People.
When he went to do a group picture I remembered I had something
for him so I called his name and he signaled to me that he had
to do this first and then he'd come c me and I was like ok so
he gave me thumbs up. So when he came over I gave him an early
b-day card and he said "Oh that's sooo sweet of you"
and he hugged and kissed me!!!
-
- Ok so then AJ came and he signed
my Teen People and I asked him if he has email at Hotmail and
he said no a lot of people pretend that they're them. So then
came NICK!!!! My personal favorite!! When he walked in the room
I cried!!! So he signed my Teen People, hugged me and got a few
pictures of me and him(I got a picture with each of them except
Brian...mom ran out of film :( I also gave him a letter from
me and he said he'd read it that night. Well then Brian came
around and I hugged him and I asked him if he remembered a girl
from their last concert that was at Roy Rogers with them and
asked for his hat and he's like, "Yeah I do..." I was
like, that was me!!! (I had begged him for his hat) So he signed
my Teen People and then he had to go. The guys are sooo nice!!
The concert was the best!! I was 4th row on the floor center
stage!!! And at the concert I met a lot of nice people...Well
if u get a chance to go to a BSB concert...don't pass it up!!

- My name is Leanne and I'm from Winnipeg
Canada, and this is how I met Nick. It was August 20th, 1998
and me and my best friend were headed down to the Winnipeg arena,
where the concert was. It was about 8:30am (we went so early
because there was a huge party in front of the arena.) Anyways,
as I was driving I happened to see a huge bus and jokingly I
said to my friend Liane "I bet that's them." The bus
was turning down a side street and the car behind the bus was
all full of posters and said "the Backstreet Mobile"
all over it. So we decided to follow the bus. Sure enough the
bus stopped at a hotel. I still had to find a parking spot so
I pulled in to the next spot I could almost causing an accident.
I got out of my car and ran to the front of the hotel just in
time to see A.J run into the hotel.
-
- I started talking to another girl
who was there and she said that Nick was still to come. Sure
enough 2 minutes later another bus pulled up with the whole Carter
family in it. As Nick stated to get off, the other 15 girls that
were smart enough to go to the hotel, tried to contain our screams,
we did pretty good. Nick gave everybody autographs let us take
his pictures and even took the gift I had givin him. He didn't
say much because he had just woken up but that didn't really
matter to me because the fact that he touched me and said "HI!"
is enough to keep me smiling forever!!!

- Well, I went to the "Orlando
Bands Together" which was a benefit concert for the tornado
victims in Central Florida. The Backstreet Boys were the hosts
of the show and everyone was waiting for them and of course they
were the last to perform after bands such as 'N Sync, Take 5,
No Mercy, Ginuwine, and 13 other Orlando local bands. Anyways,
when every band finished a Backstreet Boy would come up and introduce
the next band...and of course, everyone was screaming. But when
finally the last band performed everyone knew it was time for
the BSB and they came out and sang Quit Playin Games, As Long
As You Love Me, and Everybody...Of course at the beginning, Kevin
and some others had to tell them to be quiet because every1 was
screaming so loud. The sad part was that we were out in a parking
lot so it was really hot, but at the end it was worth it. Even
though this has nothing to do with the BSBs though, if any of
you have heard of Take5, please e-mail me because I need to talk
to someone about the fine guy Stevie from that band...He like
waved at me and after I ran in front of the bus and he smiled
at me, and then blew me a kiss. I was going to die..oh well,
I hope you all enjoyed my story!!

- The Backstreet Boys were coming
to Toronto (where I live) to do a concert at the Molsen Centre
on March 29/97. I knew where they were staying at so my friend
Steph and I booked a room. After the concert we rushed to the
hotel, so excited to see them. When we got to the hotel, we ran
to the front desk claiming to them that we had a room. We were
allowed to stay. Steph and I waited, and waited until they finally
came in. We were the first ones in front of the door. Brian ran
in and said "It's crazy out there!" I replied back
and said "Ya, I know, it's been like this for quite some
time now". He said "Oh really?" and I said "Yeah".
-
- The rest of the guys came in and
me and Steph were starstruck!!! But we played it cool. All the
guys said hi, and we couldn't believe it. We would of been pretty
happy if we left the hotel with just a "hi" from the
BSB, but that wasnt all that happened. Howie invited us to go
and talk with them so they could get to know us better and visa-versa.
We talked with the guys for a while, THEY ARE VERY SWEET. We
had to go cause it was getting pretty late and we could tell
they were tired. They said to us "We had a lot of fun here
with you guys so we'll hook up with you guys tomorrow for breakfast"
We said ok, not actually thinking they were going to. In the
morning Steph and I were just getting ready to go home and we
heard a knock on the door. We opened it up and there were the
five Backstreet Boys standing there. We were freaking out but
not showing it of course. We were all cool. A.J said "Come
on, lets go get some breakfast". We were like, "Ok".
So we went to this real fancy restaurant in the hotel, just reserved
for them. After we had eaten we said our good byes (hugs and
kisses) and then sadly we had to go. A.J gave me his phone number
and I gave him mine, as well as Steph exchanged with Brian. It
was the best time in my life and we all keep in touch. See ya!!!

- I have two that I'd like to share.
-
- The first one was August 12th, 1997
in Times Square in NYC. The Backstreet
Boys were performing at the Virgin Megastore, and my friend
and I were going to see them. We woke up at 4 am, got
on a bus, rode 2 hours into the city, reached the store
at 7 am, and stood in line after line after line for about 7
hours straight. When we were finally let in the store to wait,
we sat up on the second floor since we didn't have VIP
passes. We watched the show on screens, and when they
sang Quit Playing Games, As Long As You Love Me, and Backstreet's
Back, they were going to sign autographs. We didn't have enough
time to wait in line, so we staked out a spot on the railing
and I tried to get Nick's attention while my friend went
for Brian. It worked! Nick waved at me, and Brian smiled
at my friend. We went home happy!
-
- The second was January 23, 1998
at Constitution Hall in Washington DC. Me,
three friends, and my mom were going to see BSB, and we decided
to forget dinner and go wait in line early. We sat out
in the rain for about an hour. A very uneventful hour.
Suddenly, girls started screaming and I looked through the
big windows (which had bars) and I couldn't see anything. Well,
someone said Howie was down the hall. I sat and waited,
and a few minutes later, they started screaming again!
This time, Nick walked by, like, 30 ft in front of me- (with
glass between us.) He was talking to a few people, so he didn't
look at the crowd. Then about 10 ft behind Nick, Kev walked
by, and he was talking to people too, so he didn't really
look at us. Then Brian walked by, and he slowed down and
waved. Then Howie, who cocked his head, smiled, and waved.
Then AJ, who stopped completely and stood there smiling and
waving for a few seconds! It was a blast.
-
- We were let in a little bit later.
The concert started at 7:30, but BSB
didn't come onstage till about an hour and a half after that,
because 3 groups opened for them, then they had technical
difficulties. After that, everyone in thew theatre was
chanting "BACKSTREET BOYS!!!" to get them to come out.
-
- When they did, you couldn't hear
ANYTHING! It was a blast! they sang "That's they way I like
it" first, then introduced themselves, and sang some more
songs. We were all dancing and singing and screaming. They sang
Quit Playin' Games, I'll Never
Break Your Heart, As Long As You Love Me, Anywhere For You, and
All I Have To Give. They might have sang more, but I'm
not sure. Then they left stage. We were all chanting again,
and they cane out and sang Get Down. THEN, they left,
and we all chanted again, and the five hot guys came out one
last time to end with Backstreet's Back!!!!!!!!
