The Journey ... So Far
Jimmy and Spike were dancers on
the British cult television 'The Hitman And Her' show. Both of them decided to
form a duo after they realised that they were getting a better response than the
acts they were supporting.Lee met Jimmy and Spike at The
Hitman roadshow in Carlisle - his hometown, to which he took his little sister
who fancied Spike to see the gig the other two were in. Lee convinced the duo to
let him join up and thus - bang! 911 was born.
Jimmy, Lee and Spike move to
Scotland in the bet of pop starter. Many people thought them are crazy. In the
early day, 911 were turn-down each time they knock on a door in search for a
record deal. What followed was months and months on the road in Scotland of all
place, gigging at dody venues and playing to even dodgier audience.
Finally they released the remark
of the classic Shalamar disco tune "Night To Remember" and followed by "Love
Sensation" on the indepence label, the Ginga Records Co. 'Night To
Remember' was released on 29 April 96 and reached No.38 and "Love
Sensation" peaked at No.21 in the UK Chart.

911 then embarked on UK wide tour
with released of their 's third singles "Don 't Make Me Wait". This single draws
the attention of Virgin Records. And on Lee 's 21 birthday on the 27 September
96, the long await record deals was signed.
Finally, the debut album "The
Journey" was released on the 24 February 97 and so begun a huge success. Their
new single, 'Bodysakin' which crashing it way to No.3 in the UK.
Between March to June 1997, 911
went around the world to promote it 's debut album in Europe ; Germany, Norway,
Switzerland, the Far East ; Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines,
Thailand, Korea and the US.
"The Journey" album was No1 for in Asia and Malaysia for several
months.
An earlier attempt to break the US market with "Love Sensation"
which appears on the Casper 2 movie soundtrack was had not
successful and memorable. Besides, that they did also "Be Your Own
Best Friends" for the Power Rangers.
The next single "The Journey" was
released in July 1997 and reached No.3 in the UK Charts.
While in September 1997 saw the commen for the 911 first UK Tour. Beginning in the the city of Glasgow, 911 play
to a stage of 30 cities and finished at the Wembley Arena all in 3 weeks.
The tour was quickly announced a
success with the show selling out in a minutes of hour. On the Back of the tour,
a band new track was out, "Party People... Friday Night" which quickly enter the
UK Top 4. For the first on 911 single, all there band members some the lead
vocal.
Then they moved on and came, "All I Want Is You",
"How Do You Want Me To Love You" taken from their second album titled 'Moving
On' which was released in 6 July 1998.
The next album "There Is It'" out before Christmas was a cover version of their favourite
songs in the 70 's and 80 's such like "More Than A Woman" which
went to No.2.
They released "A Little Bit More" on 25 January 1999. They
finally make it to the No 1 UK chart with the single "Private
Number".
On 26 February 2001, soon after their Asian tour, Jimmy and
Spike spoke live on the Chris Moyles show on
UK's BBC Radio 1 about their decision to split.
"Wonderland" was their last single. Lee did went on to pursue a solo
career. He released one single but it didn't worked out.
