The Beginning Of A Perfect Week
October 18, 2000
Wilkes Barre, PA
Well, the week started on October 16 when I flew in to PA from Atlanta.  Laura picked me up and we were on our way.  I was shocked on how warm it was.  I was prepared for snow, haha.  Boy it's been a long time since I've been up north.

Wednesday was the first Big Night.  Laura, her son Joey, and I were on our way to Wilkes Barre.  As we walked up to the arena, Joey spotted a TV camera and started to chat with the news woman.  He told her he wanted to be on TV and she assured him she will interview him in just a few minutes.  We then went to Will Call to collect our EJ.com tickets and to our surprise, we got great seats on the floor.

As we stood waiting for the doors to open, the news woman came over to Joey and asked if he was ready.  The camera went on Joey stole the show.  He said some shot outs to his teachers, showed the gift him and his mom brought for Elton, talked about his mom's tattoo and also did a great job singing Crocodile Rock.  The funniest part is when the news woman asked how he became an Elton fan and Joey responded, "My mom brainwashed me."  The woman literally fell to the ground laughing.

Elton opened the show with my favorite opening, Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding.  From there, the show was nothing but perfect.  It was so great to see the band with him again.  Don't get me wrong, I love the solo shows, but I think it's time for Elton to travel with the band for a change.  My favorite part of the show is hearing Elton sing Come Together by The Beatles.  The crowd went wild and gave him such an applause after.

Laura and I also made some signs to hold up to show Elton how much we love him.  They read:  Elton We Love U, U R Captain Fantastic, and Rock It Man.  He seemed to love the Rock It Man poster, he stood up and pointed to us and said thank you.  Laura also noticed the band liked it as well.

I was in such awe after the show.  And This was only the beginning!
