In the beginning, the noise-terror unit was created by anthony valcic (digital mastering) and Ken Marshall (sound engineer, mixer), who for many years have been behind the curtains of Skinny Puppy’s success, dj Philth (synthesizers, fx), Mark Spybey (vocalisations, abrasions), who is part of dead voices on air and Dwayne Goettel and cEvin key (hybrid electro percussion kit, keyboards) of Skinny Puppy. While Dwayne passed away in august ‘95, Download has committed itself to existing and proceeding in Dwayne’s memory. Goettel was influential in creating the textures and rhythms on top of which the elements of Download were layered on top of to give the sound that we hear. There is special guest, Genesis P. Orridge of (throbbing gristle and psychic tv), who lends his voice to the band on certain tracks.
Download is signed to Subconscious Records a division of Nettwerk.
