SLUGWRENCH
Slugwrench is a fairly new band. Jason Shepherd programs, composes, sequences, engineers and masters all the music for Slugwrench from scratch. The music is very innovative. It doesn't sound like the majority of electronic music available on the market today, quite frankly because it's not. Jason Shepherd is a musical genius. It's not cranked up beats per minute drum loops like the rest (the type that can be had by the handful in the rest of the music industry.) It's music with layers upon layers of intricately fine tuned beats, rhythms and textures.
Eveytime I listen to PROLE (the most recent release), I hear something new. And everytime I listen to PROLE on acid, I understand and comprehend the world as a whole, the people, the places, the times, the pain.
Slugwrench is signed to Intolerance Records, a small indie label in Tulsa, Oklahoma with an even smaller budget. I hear that PROLE was shelved for three years while Intolerance was waiting for funding. There are several new releases on the way, with money being the only thing standing in the way. Luckily for us, Jason uploads brand new ones himself almost daily in MP3 on various anonymous servers, and if you are one of the lucky ones to get ahold of one of these, by all means, email me. I have some unreleased Slugwrench we could trade!
