Review:
Monster overdrive for a Strat plugged into a vintage Fender amplifier. Very brown-sounding for sure. Compared to the TS-9, this bad boy is more mellow and not as shrill. A favorite of blues and classic rock musicians worldwide.
I personally don't like this pedal with humbucker guitars, or through a Marshall amplifier. The higher gain created by humbucking pickups going into this pedal makes it sound very flat to me. Marshall's really seem to lose the subtle character this pedal produces as well. I tried it through several different Marshalls equipped with EL-34's, 6550's and a variety of vintage 4 x 12 Celestion loaded cabinets.
