SpOOky!
Well, not really, but you may be a little surprised to read some stuff here that you may not have known about those little Irish men...
Here goes....
***Bono was born only 4 days after the "U2 Incident" where the American surveillance plane was shot down whilst on a spying mission over the Soviet Union...***
***On one occasion in 1992, Bono undressed completely in a restaurant while being interviewed by a journalist during dinner. Why you ask? Turns out that Bono felt the reporter was incredibly frozen and unimaginative so he thought that it'd be a good idea. Not much of a reaction from the reporter though... ( wha? no picture?? )***
***"A waster acquaintance of the band's in the early 80s broke into Bono's flat while U2 was on tour, cooked himself a meal, did the dishes and then legged it with his TV and video. Months later, the petty burglar cheerfully admitted the crime to his famous victim in a Dublin pub. 'He said to me,'Bono deadpans,'I thought, Well, the band's doing alright and that...' " Q Magazine 1997 ***
***Larry Mullen was voted one of Ireland's sexiest men in 1998. The top award though went to the country's former Prime Minister, Charlie Haughey, who is 73. Hmmm...***
***Who wore Lemon? Turns out that Bono got the lyrical idea for that song from an old home video that he saw where his mother was wearing lemon.***
***You know the Menendez brothers? The strange duo who blow off their parents with a shotgun... Well, during the making of Rattle and Hum, the Edge took up a house in Beverly Hills with his then-wife Aislinn and their kids. The very same house that will later become the scene for the shootings...***
***For his honeymoon with Ali way back in 1982, Bono loaned a house belonging to Ian Fleming, a house named Goldeneye. Years later, he and the Edge write the title track for the James Bond movie titled Goldeneye, sung by Tina Turner.***
I'll be putting up more as and when I find 'em. Check back in when you can.
