You're Still The One
Shania Twain
Robert John "Mutt" Lange, producer;
Jeff Balding & Mike Shipley, engineers/mixers
Track from: COME ON OVER
[Mercury Records Nashville]

My Prediction: Madonna has the worst odds in this catagory. Ray is too different from past winners (its almost always a ballad) so its inclusion here is surprising as it is. Even the Grammys have to realize thatThe Boy Is Mine is just too stupid so give it to either Iris or My Heart Will Go On which of course means that I'll have to leave the country.

[Mercury Records Nashville]

Unlike Record Of The Year, this catagory is filled with worthy candidates (except Shania) and the award will probably go to Lauren Hill, since she's nominated for nine others.

Best Dance Recording

For solo artists, duos or groups, vocal or instrumental. Singles or tracks only. Award to the Artist and to the Producer (and/or Mixer) if other than the Artist.

Disco Inferno

Ray Of Light
Madonna
Track from: RAY OF LIGHT
[Maverick/Warner Bros. Records]

A weird 80s flashback category, Ray Of Light should have this one sewn up, since it's the only song nominated anywhere else.

Best Pop Album

For solo artists, duos or groups, vocal or instrumental. Compilation albums by various artists are not eligible. Award to the Artist and to the Producer(s), Recording Engineer(s) and/or Mixer(s) of 51% or more playing time of album.

[Maverick/Warner Bros. Records]

THE DIRTY BOOGIE
The Brian Setzer Orchestra
Peter Collins, producer;
John Holbrook, engineer/mixer
[Interscope Records]

Madonna is a good bet here too, since RAY is the only pop album also nominated as album of the year, but Sony has a big voting block which could give it to the undeserving Celine, or to Clapton just cuz its Clapton, or long shot Brian Setzer for the whole swing thing. Natalie Imbruglia will have to settle for a nomination before her fifteen minutes are up.
