News for the Starving
New Web Bells and Whistles - The Soylent Green Puzzle!

Much has passed since the last SG news update. (Like my vacation ended so I could not put stuff up here as much as I would have liked.) The major occurrences were that we successfully played the "Relay for Life" though it was not much longer than a half an hour. They were running late and we were the last performers. (Right after the "Sweet Adelines" a geriatric group of women singers.) Mike's father-in-law videotaped us and Mike is currently attempting to convert the songs to Real Audio format. Maybe we will have some live material posted soon. We also played my (Chris's) sister's wedding. It was great fun with a supportive crowd and lots of Karaoke. We nearly played at a dinner theater in Toledo on New Year's Eve, but apparently Dana's price was too steep for the proprietor.

In recording news, Dana has begun to master his new digital setup and work has been done on a few tracks including "Stompin' with Z", the latest in the saga of Zach and Otis and "This Minute", Chris's first contribution to SG music. Dana has also recorded a spectacular song is disorienting time signatures, but I either forgot the name or it does not have one. The last piece is finished and should be up soon. Dana merely wants to re-do the vocals.

We are also currently discussing the songs to include on a DAM (Digital Audio Music) CD from mp3.com. Hopefully soon all of our adoring fan will be able to purchase their very own CD!

We have converted music from the live Relay for Life performance. At this time you can only access a few of the live recordings of original tunes through the mp3 site "Soylent Greenn". When I lost my cooledit pro function I also lost my ability to convert to real audio, so with my technical inabilities, I will figure something out in the near future to make the rest of the recordings available.
