(version 2) Heath-Robinson, 1990 (stereo). Recorded: 07-04-64 |
Johnny Kidd (voc) - Mick Green (lead)
- Johnny Spence (bass) -
Frank Farley (drums) - Vic Cooper (keyboards) |
A harder-edged re-make of the original
1959 classic, sounding more in
line with the times. This recorded version is slightly slower that the
energetic original version, and the middle section ("I
don't know why she dug her claws in me,"
etc) was axed completely to allow room for Mick Green's soloing.
Although more in keeping with the band's contemporary onstage sound,
comparison to the classic 1959 cut makes this recording sound a little
lacklustre - unfairly. Had this been the only version, who knows? |
