Walker walked over to the hostess and told her that they would be next door for a few minutes. She nodded and he thanked her. They all walked out of the restaurant and into the candy shop, where Isaac, Jessica, Avery and Mackenzie were still chatting with Mrs. Johnson.
"Kate!" squealed Diana, as she rushed to her old friend.
Kate looked up and grinned.
"Diana! Dear, I haven't seen you for ages! This is quite a family you have here! Your boys are quite amazing as I hear."
"Yes, they are...yes they are" she smiled at Zac and Isaac.
"Now, is this little Taylor?" she asked, referring to Taylor, who was standing his father.
Taylor walked out from behind Walker and smiled.
"Hi, Mrs. Johnson" he grinned
"My my Taylor, you've grown so much, and you're so handsome!"
"Thank you" he blushed.
Mrs. Johnson smiled at him. She looked at August.
"Taylor, is this your girlfriend?"
"Why, yes it is. Mrs. Johnson, I'd like you to meet.."
"August Mayers, yes, I know"
"How'd you know?" he asked, puzzled.
"Well, for one, I read an article in a magazine about her traveling with some huge group, at that time, I never realized that it was the same Hanson boys that I used to live next to. And I know her parents."
"You know my parents? How?" asked August, talking for the first time in about 10 minutes."
"Well, I used to be a teacher at the local high school, and your parents went there. I can remember them being the cutest couple, and I was invited to their wedding. They were my favorite students. Then they moved to California, and I haven't seen them since the reunion, which was about 5 years ago."
"They lived in California? Wow."
"Where do you live now?"
"Well, I live in Tulsa, and they live in Illinois. They're looking for a house in Tulsa, but they can't seem to find one. So they sent me down so I could get to know people, and so I could start school if they didn't find a house by September."
"Where are you staying?"
"I'm staying with the Hansons"
"Oh, I see"
"Diana, the boys tell me that they got signed to a record company!? Thats amazing!"
"Yes, well, they're amazing too."
"Yes, I can see"
The reunion with Mrs. Johnson last the rest of the day and on into the night. The Hansons and Mrs. Johnson went out to dinner to catch up. It was at least midnight before they got back to the hotel.
"August, babe, wake up" whispered Taylor, as he gently shook August.
"Wha? Where am I?"
"You're at the hotel, you fell asleep on the way here"
"I did?"
"Yea"
"Oh"
"Know what?"
"No Tay, I don't, just tell me"
"You look beautiful when you're asleep"
"So what are you saying, that I only look beautiful when I'm asleep?!" she said, pretending to be offended.
"No! You always look beautiful, its just, I don't know. You just look so happy when you're asleep" he replied, smiling.
August smiled and gave him a hug.
"I'm happy because I have you, and I always think about you when I'm asleep, so I have good dreams"
Taylor smiled and the two got out of the car. They walked into the hotel and into the elevator holding hands. Taylor walked her to her door and gave her a short kiss.
"Night babe"
"Night"
August turned and opened her door. Just as she was about to close it, she heard Taylor call her name.
"August?"
"Yea Tay?"
"I.....I love you"
August smiled.
"I love you too Tay"
Taylor grinned, and walked to and unlocked his door. He knew he'd sleep well tonight.
****The Next Morning****
August yawned as she walked thru her door into the common room of the hotel room. She sat down and flipped on the TV. She glanced at the clock.
"Hmmm, 10 am, they should be awake by now"
She picked up the phone and dialed her parent's number. It rang twice before her dad picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hi Daddy!!"
"Hey August! How's my girl?"
"I'm doing good."
"Well, that's good. Are you having fun?"
"Yea! A lot of fun"
"That's good honey"
"Dad?"
"Yes?"
"Do you remember a woman by the name of Kate Johnson, from Tulsa?"
"Kate Johnson, hmm, yes, actually, I do. Your mother and I had her as a teacher in high school. Why?"
"Because I met her yesterday, here in New York, she knows the Hansons"
"Wow! That's interesting!"
"Yea. So, how's Mom doing?"
"She's doing very well. She's due to have the baby in about two months."
"Cool! Do you know if its a girl or a boy?"
"No, the doctors haven't told us yet."
"Man, I wanted to know!"
"Yea, I figured you'd want to. So what have you been up to?"
"Well, the guys have an interview this afternoon on Rosie O'Donnell, and this show is live, so be sure to watch!"
"Trust me, I will."
"Cool. Hey Dad? I gotta go, I have to take a shower and then we're going to go out for breakfast"
"This late?"
"Yea, we didn't get back until late last night"
"Ok, then I guess I'll talk to you later!"
"Ok, bye Daddy!"
"Bye honey, Love you!"
"Love you to, bye"
August hung up the phone, and walked into the bathroom.
"Wonder whats going to happen today" she thought.
