The day was going pretty well by August's perspective. The whole family had gotten to the studio on time, and the guys had performed without a flaw. Now they were onto the interview. She seriously thought it would be the same as every other interview. Same questions, same answers. Guess Not.
"So boys, how is the family doing?" asked Rosie
"Well, everyone is doing very well. Thank you" smiled Isaac
"You guys only have 3 sisters, all younger than Zac, am I correct?"
"Yea, we have three sisters, Jessica, Avery, and the youngest is Zoë" replied Taylor.
"You know, I read an article about you guys last week."
"Um, you did?" asked Taylor, glancing over to August, who's head shot up from where it was positioned, talking to Avery.
"Yea, it was in People. You guys have girlfriends?"
"Well...."
"Come on Taylor, its ok for you to have a girlfriend."
"Ok, fine. I have a girlfriend."
"Thats so cute! Is that her?" Rosie asked, pointing over to August.
Taylor blushed and nodded.
"Whats her name?" she whispered.
"Um, her name is August."
"Do you mind if she comes up here?"
Taylor looked over at August with a questioning look. She shurgged and looked to Mr. Hanson, who also shrugged. She turnned back to Taylor and nodded.
"No, I don't mind at all" he smiled.
"Ok, August, could you come up here."
August set Mackenzie down and walked up onto the stage and sat down next to Taylor. She said hi to Rosie. She glanced at the audience. She was getting death stares.
"How are you August?"
"I'm fine, thank you"
"So, where are you from?"
"Well, I'm originally from Rockford, Illinois, but my family is moving to Tulsa"
"Oh, do you live near these guys?" she asked, gesturing to Hanson
"Actually, very close"
"Well, thats cool."
"Ok, everybody, Middle of Nowhere is the album, the band is Hanson, and they are a bunch of cuties. I'll see you tomorrow when we have David Spade and Shania Twain. Bye!"
The cameras shut off, and the audience began to leave.
The ride to the hotel was not a quiet one. Though August sat next to the window and stared, Taylor blabbered on about how fun it was going to be to meet everyone, and how awesome it will be when everyone sees him on TV. August had had it. She was thinking about whether or not to tell Tay that she wanted to go home.
"Diana?"
"August! Hi honey, whats up?"
"Diana, I'm thinking about going home. I don't really feel comfortable anymore. With that whole article thing......I dont know"
"Oh honey, we didn't mean for that article to happen. Tay feels terrible about the incident this afternoon. But I see what you're saying. If you would like to go home, I can arrange it."
"Really??"
"Honey, I wouldn't want to make you stay if you didn't want to"
"Thank you Diana"
August hugged Diana and smiled.
"Ok, when would you want to leave?"
"How about next week? Is that ok?"
"Probably" Diana smiled. "I'm sorry this is happening."
"Yea, so am I. But I have a feeling it'd be best, because I think i'm destracting Tay."
They hugged again and August left. When she got back to her room, she made sure no one was near the room and she locked the door. She sat doen at the phone and called her parents.
"Hello?"
"Hey..Mom?"
"August! Hi! I saw you on Rosie today hun!"
"Oh, you did?"
"Yea. You didn't look like you were having to much fun."
"Yea, I know I wasn't. I was getting death stares from the audience. It wasn't fun."
"Oh honey, I'm sorry!"
"Everyone's been saying that" she laughed. "Anyways I called because I think I want to take a break and come home."
"Oh honey, whats wrong? Aren't you having fun?"
"Oh Mom! Of course I'm having fun! Its a blast!" But I mean, I think I'm distracting the guys by being there, and the fact that reporters follow me doesn't help."
"Why are reporters following you?"
"They're following me because when I came back to New York, there were reporters at the airport that took pictures of me and Tay hugging. And they wrote stuff about me and now like, the whole world knows I'm Taylor Hanson's girlfriend."
"Ok, then maybe you should come home. Hey! Did your dad tell you that we found a house?"
"No! He didn't! Thats great!"
"Yea. So, we can set up the flight to Tulsa, rather than Chicago."
"Ok. Thats good. I'll call when I get the details, ok mom?"
"Ok honey, bye. Love You!"
August hung up the phone and went to tell Diana the details. Diana sat down at the phone and called the airline. Her flight was in 2 days.
